Pure WheelPure WheelThere something about a white sky that I like about photos. Perhaps is the way I was taught how to use negative space in architecture to affect moods. That puts in in good stead to start applying it in photography. It is always in the back of a photographers mind when they are composing. The more you do it the less you have to think about what you are doing. It just sort of becomes natural to you. I am not sure where I am on that scale but I like to think that it is nearly natural. But if you stop thinking about composition, then what will happen?

It’s getting close to Comic Relief and Red Nose day. This means that it’s feels about right to bring this photo out from the archive from when I was in Kenya. The charity I was with, works very close with this organization to help provide clean water all over Kenya. In search of previous projects we went to a slum a short drive away from Kimilili. I forget exactly where but I’m working on a diary of the whole trip that will have all of the details. Family walk from miles around to go and collect water from this fountain. A village has also shot up around it where we spoke with some of locals while we were visiting. They told us how much this had changed their lives and it was so good to see how happy the children were.

It’s such a good thing that Comic Relief exists. More of this please.
